From
the Marquesas Islands to the Tuamotu archipelago, from Tahiti
to the Leeward Islands, step aboard Banana Split. We will
follow the path traveled by Paul Gauguin, find the smile of
the Marquesans, the sparkling lagoons full of multicolored
fish ; waterfalls, forests, deserted islands, straight out
of a dream, or tahitian fêtes ; Poisson cru (raw fish tahitian
style), and tiare flowers. We shall meet a few happy Robinson
Crusoes, and remember famous sailor Bernard Moitessier ; together
we shall find a few corners of paradise.

Banana
Split leaves New Caledonia and enters the Indian Ocean, North
of Australia ; we’ll stop at Christmas Island, Cocos
Keeling, the Maldives, with their innumerable dreamlike islets
; then we'll visit Mauritius, the land of Sega Music, and
Rodrigues Island, then Réunion Island, so diverse,
from its beaches to its volcanoes.

Passing
the Cape of Good Hope,the catamaran Banana Split enters the
Atlantic Ocean, and visits Robben Island, St Helena, Devil's
Island (all of them once a prison, for Mandela, Napoleon or
Papillon, yet beautiful remote islands) as well as Ascension,
islands of Brazil, Barbados ; then we head for Bermuda, the
wonderful Azores, Madeira, the Canary and Cape Verde Islands,
before ending in the blue Caribbean an unforgettable 12,000
nautical mile solo cruise. |
